Your thoughts should start to focus on marketing your book project prior to placing you pen to tablet or punch through the first document on your computer.

Quality writing is a writer’s skill.


Point #1
Quality writing, marketable writing imparts upon the reader knowledge, instruction, learning and experience.
Point #2
Writing does not work if it only entertains. It is critical to convey character's feelings, the essence of place and time; emotions are clear and concrete, between the writer and the reader.

Sentences are accurate and readable. The writer has a responsibility to create the desired reaction of the reader by the choice and sequence of words used.

Every word must earn its existence in the sentence and beyond to the paragraph.
Point #5
The writer’s style should be as clear and sharp as to breakdown the reader's resistance.
Point #6
Create combinations of words, sentences and paragraphs which will hold the reader's attention and not force the reader to close your work.

Read your work with a critical eye. Critique to a set of written standards using process. Remove redundant words or ideas, we can be considered waste.

Eliminate all clashes and conflicts between the written form and substance of your written product, and your style of writing.
Point #9
Practice writing, practice writing, and then practice again.
Point #10         
Remember and study the rules (Chicago Manual of Style) learn and apply one rule or technique and then start over at point #1.
